In The Land of Organics

I have super exciting news I would like to share! I'm planting my very own garden!!!

Several weeks ago I planted a few seeds; squash, okra, strawberries, broccoli, and tomatoes. Pictured below is a picture of one of them when it first started to bud.

I will soon start my bell peppers and watermelon. I am literally piping with excitement! I have already begun to transfer them into a raised garden bed. I decided to go with a raised bed because I figured it would be easier 1) I wouldn't have to do any tilling or plowing and 2) Jennevieve can stand up next to it and help me pick the veggies once they are ripe...or at least pretend to help.

I really wanted to build my own raised bed, but it just wasn't realistic to build by myself and my husband has been super busy with work, so I decided purchase one. If you have ever looked into purchasing a raised bed kit you understand it can be extremely costly. By costly, I mean they can cost up to $200-$300. Now let's be clear, my name would be Bob the Builder if my only option was to purchase one for that high price 😂.

However, I did my research and found the perfect one that was 42-in X 42-in. and it was a major steal! (I have linked a similar bed at the very bottom). It is only 6 in. high, so if you are looking for something a little deeper just purchase 2 of them and stack one on top of the other. It is bottomless so it works perfectly.

My plan is to keep you updated on my progress. Since this is my very first garden I'm open to any help I can get and if you have any tips you would like to share with me, please leave them below in the comments. I want to grow together 😉.
